Louisville -- Dolan Poynter Bryant, 61, Louisville, died Thursday, August 1, 1996 at his home.

He was a native of Hart County, the son of the late Poynter and Adeline Powell Bryant and was employed at Louisville Stoneware for 40 years. A daughter, Patricia K. Basham and a son Wendel Ray Bryant preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Bryant, Louisville; three daughters, Rebecca Jewell, Canmer; Janice Fay Fletcher, Elizabethtown; three sisters, Kathleen Atwell, Hardyville; Silvonie Reynolds and Lula Spalding, both of Louisville; a step-daughter, Sherry Spencer, Hardyville; tow step-sons, Jerry Spencer and Dennis Spencer; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. EDT Monday at W. G. Hardy Valley Chapel, Louisville. Graveside services were held at Whickerville Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Monday. Local arrangements were by Sego Funeral Home of Munfordville.

Ft. Sill, Okla. Army Pvt. E-2 Wendell Bryant, 19, Ft. Sill, Okla., formerly of Hart County, died there Friday after being struck by an automobile. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Zola Gillespie, Pleasure Ridge Park, Ky.; his father, Dolan Bryant, Valley Station, KY.; three sisters, Mrs. Janie Hurt, Louisville; Mrs. Patricia Alvey, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Miss Rebecca Bryant, Pleasure Ridge Park, Ky.; a half brother, Dale Gillespie, Pleasure Ridge Park.; a step sister, Sherry Spencer, Valley Station; three step brothers, Garry Gillespie, Jeffersonville, Ind.; Dennis and Jerry Spencer both of Valley Station; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs Pointer Bryant and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jeffries, both of Hardyville; his great grandmothers, Mrs. Helen Jeffries, Horse Cave; Mrs. Pearl Taylor, Ft. Worth, Texas.
Funeral service were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home in Horse Cave. Burial was in the Wickerville Cemetery.
