Dorothy Geraldine Melvin, age 83, of Canmer, KY, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012, at Glenview Nursing Home in Glasgow, KY. She was a homemaker and member of Canmer Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Macy Sullivan and the late Henrietta Burns Sullivan. She was the wife of the late C. A. Melvin. She is survived by three sons: Terry Melvin (Gay), Hardyville, KY, Danny Melvin (Trena), Pikeville, KY, Jackie Melvin (Mary Jane), Franklin, KY; one nephew: Paul Sullivan, Canmer, KY; one niece: Helen Carter, Louisville; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Joe Foster officiating. Interment will be at Pearl Webb Cemetery, Canmer, KY.
