After a long life lived peaceably with the world, Mrs. Sarah E. Newman aged 87 years, 6 months and 5 days, was called in death Wednes day morning of last week.
Mrs. Newman was born in Green county, Tennessee, Oct. 22, 1845, and died Apr. 27, 1932 at the family home in Moody, Tx, at 11:05 am.
On Nov. 7, 1866, she was married to Joseph H. Newman in Tenn. and moved to Kent. , from which state the couple came to Tx. in a wagon in 1880, settling near Moody. The past 15 yrs the home has been in Moody. 11 children were born to their happy union. Those surviving are : Mrs a. m. Polston, Mrs b. j gilliland , Mrs Rebecca Quinn, Mrs. Mary Holder, Mrs, J. W. Ingram, Mrs. Henry Mangum, George Newman, Mrs. Leonard McDonald, Mrs. W. F. Sparks, J. E. Newman, The husband and father on October 1, 1926, after and illness that lasted some time, passed away and was laid to rest in Moody cemetery, endin a happy married life of 60 yrs.
