Maxie Rigdon

MUNFORDVILLE - Funeral services for Maxie Rigdon will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cherry Springs Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the Cherry Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Rigdon died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Bashford Manor Nursing Home in Louisville. He was 87.

He was born June 27, 1918 in Cub Run to the late William Riley Rigdon and Callie Devine Rigdon. He was an equipment operator for General Mills and a farmer. He was a member of Cherry Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Ola May Raisor and her husband Ronnie of Louisville, Linda Sue Brennerman of California, Neva Joan Smith of California and Maxine Flores of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Nora Rigdon Thompson of Cub Run; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, William Cecil Ridgon; five sisters, Minnie Rigdon Taylor, Annie Rigdon Meredith, Settle Rigdon Cannon, Audrey Rigdon Stewart and Alleen Rigdon; and six brothers, Clarance, Matt, Virgil, Charlie, Bert and Joe Rigdon.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at Brooks Funeral Home.
