Basil C. Hatcher - (1929 - 2010 ) Basil C. Hatcher, 80, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 23, 2010 at his home. The Hart County native was the son of the late Earl and Mayme Poynter Hatcher. He was a member and deacon of Servant Valley United Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from the Hart County Creamery. Survivors include his wife, Cleva Buckingham Hatcher, Cave City; two children, Tommy Hatcher and his wife Debbie, Glasgow, Creel Hatcher and his wife Robin, Cave City; a grandson, Stephen Hatcher, Glasgow; five brothers, Merrold Hatcher, Stanley Hatcher, Isaac Hatcher and his wife Helen, David Hatcher and his wife Barbra, Paul Hatcher and his wife Dorado; two sisters, Frances Sturgeon and Margie Wilson, all of Cave City. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Hatcher and Harold Hatcher. Funeral services with Rev. Danny Dickson and Rev. Jerry Vaughn will be at 2 PM, Sunday, April 25th at Servant Valley United Baptist Church with burial in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, will be on Saturday from 2 to 9 PM and from 9 AM Sunday until 1:30 PM Ron was preceded in death by his father James Clarence Huffman and mother Mary Ellen Ferguson Huffman Bevers. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Terry Huffman of Tucson, AZ; his daughter Laura Lee Wilson-Langman (Don) of Modesto, CA; a brother James T. Huffman (Nina) of Ohio; grandchildren Jennifer K. Rossi (Ron), Matthew J. Wilson, and Jeffrey R. Wilson (Melanie), all of California; four great-grandsons, RJ and Kyle Rossi, Camden Wilson and Bryce Wilson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. No matter where he went, where he lived, and who he met, Ron always let it be known he was a proud Kentuckian and that Cave City was his true home. He will return home to be laid to rest on May 8, 2010 at 11:30 AM in the Huffman Family area of the Cave City Cemetery. The Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel, Cave City, is in charge of the graveside memorial service. There will be no visitation.
