Hazel (Logsdon) Sidebottom

October 31, 1916 ~ May 3, 2017 (age 100)

Hazel Logsdon Sidebottom, age 100, of Horse Cave, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Signature Health Care Center.  She was born on a farm on what is now Mammoth Cave National Park and rode a horse to school to get an education.  She had a passion for cooking, gardening and children which was illustrated by over 50 years as a 4-H Club leader.  She was  an avid reader, Mammoth Cave historian and story teller.  She was also a member of the Horse Cave United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Louis Sidebottom, on December 9, 2004.

She is survived by two sons, James Leslie Sidebottom and his wife, Shirley, of Bowling Green and Steve Sidebottom and his wife, Suzanne, of Munfordville; five grandchildren, Connie Vincent, Smiths Grove, Mark Sidebottom, Horse Cave, Erin Sidebottom Dennis, Asheville, NC, Scott Sidebottom, Las Vegas, NV, and Leslie Anne Sidebottom, Bowling Green; eight great-grandchildren, Avery Vincent, Annelise Vincent, both of Smiths Grove; Kyla Sidebottom, Maci Sidebottom and Jessa Sidebottom, Horse Cave; William Stephen (Liam) Dennis and John Oscar (Ozzie)  Dennis, Asheville, NC and Madelyn Anne (Mady) Sidebottom, Bowling Green;  two step-grandchildren, John Willmott, Starkville, MS & Dr. Clay Willmott, Edgewood, KY; four step-great-grandchildren, Hanna & Ashley Willmott, Edgewood, KY, Sara & Ryan Willmott, Starkville, MS; and one sister, Wilma Underwood, Dumfries, VA.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer.  Visitation at Winn Funeral Home on Friday, May 5, 2017, from 5-8 p.m.  Arrangements are under the direction of Winn Funeral Home.
