MONMOUTH- Delbert Logsdon, 82 of 1036 E. Sixth Ave., died Sunday morning at 10:55 in Monmouth Hospital. He was born March 24, 1879 at Horse Cave, KY.

HE married Martha Jane Dennison March 19, 1900 and they moved to Monmouth in 1919. He worked at Farmall and the 3-M works and in later years was self employed. Surviving are nine children, Mike Frank and Bill Logsdon, Mrs. Clytie Nees, mrs. Ralph (Belle) Piper, Mrs. Frank (Irene) Piper, Mrs. HOmer (Elizabeth ) Gill, residing in Arkansas, Mrs Katherine Gill in Louisiana, and Mrs. Curtis (Cora) Jacks of Belvidere, IL.; a sister, Mrs. Opal Short of Monmouth, 32 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, six children and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm at Holliday & Hoover Memorial Chapel. The family will be at the chapel Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30. Burial will be in Warren Co Memorial Park Cemetery.



Monmouth is in Warren Co, IL. Delbert was the son of William Harrison Logsdon & Eliza Jane Isbel of Hart Co. He was a brother to my gg-grandfather William A. Logsdon. Two of Delbert's children who are noted as deceased in the obituary were George, born abt. 1904 and Robert, born abt. 1921 who died in action in WWII, per the obituary of his wife Martha Jane, 1957. The other children likely died as infants, names unknown.
