"Bob" Isenberg, 63, of Esmond, Ill., formerly of Kirkland, passed away peacefully, after a seven-month battle with cancer, on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, surrounded by his loving family at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Born Dec. 29, 1940, in Kentucky, he was the son of Cecil and Rose (Rich) Isenberg. He married Sandra Kay Littlejohn on Aug. 5, 1967, in Kirkland. He worked for Automatic Electric in Genoa for 15 years, then Sundstrand in Rockford for 30 years, retiring in April 2003. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Kirkland and a member of Local 592 Retirees. He loved gardening and woodworking in his shop. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having been stationed in Turkey for one year. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Isenberg of Esmond; a daughter, Dawn (David) Motley, and a granddaughter, Ava Motley, both of Waukegan; his father, Cecil Isenberg of Belvidere; two sisters, Doris (Doug) Dold of Glasgow, Ky., and Deloris West of Anna; a brother, James (Beverly) Isenberg of Cherry Valley; a sister-in-law, Melody Clark of Sycamore; a brother-in-law, Terry (Janet) Littlejohn of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Todd Robert Isenberg. Bob's corneas were donated so that, through him, someone else might receive the gift of sight. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Quiram-Kirkland Funeral Home. Interment will be at Maple Cemetery in Kirkland.
