David Wayne Devore, 61, of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

He was baptized at Three Forks Bacon Creek Church. A lifelong farmer, he was retired from Gates Rubber Company and took advantage of each day and lived life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Arvel and Nettie Marie Knight Devore.

He is survived by three daughters, Jacqueline (James) Newton of Buffalo, Lisa Childress of Hodgenville and Jessica (Sterling) Lehotta of Mount Washington; six grandchildren, Anthony, Brandon and Allen Stinnett, Lindsey Cowles and Justin and Logan Childress; two sisters, Carolyn Rock of Horse Cave and Sharon (Kerry) Bunnell of Munfordville; one brother Gary Devore of Linwood; the mother of his children, Connie Lobb of Hodgenville; and his special pals, Chance and Gizmo.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. EDT Saturday, May 12, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with the Rev. Roger Pepper officiating. Burial will follow in Pearl Webb Cemetery in Canmer.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Friday and at 9 a.m. EDT Saturday at the funeral home.
