Cecil E. Isenberg

KIRKLAND, Ill. – Cecil E. Isenberg, 87, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Northwoods Care Center in Belvidere, Ill.

He was born Jan. 17, 1919, in Cave City, and was the son of the late Elzie and Donnie Proffitt Isenberg. He farmed in Kentucky and Illinois then worked at GTE Automatic Electric in Genoa, Ill., from 1964 to 1984. He was a member of The Church of Christ in Kirkland and was an avid Cubs fan. Mr. Isenberg was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters: Doris Dold and husband Douglas of Glasgow, Deloris Stanley and husband Allen of Anna, Ill.; a son: James Isenberg and wife Beverly of Cherry Valley, Ill.; a daughter-in-law: Sandra Isenberg of Esmond, Ill.; a brother: James Isenberg and wife Joyce of Summer Shade; ten grandchildren: Dawn Motley and husband David, Douglas Dold Jr. and wife Deanna, Jeffrey Dold and wife Lorie, Daniel Dold and wife Karen, Kimberly Clark and husband Kerry, Jodica Clark and husband Ken, Stacey Klassen and husband Adam, R.J. Crunk and wife Lori, Bret Crunk and wife Stacy, Kari Hogue and husband Joshua; 22 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Belle Rich Isenberg; a son, Robert Isenberg; and a grandson, Todd Isenberg; three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Quiram-Kirkland Funeral Home, Kirkland, Ill., with John Nicholson officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Cemetery in Kirkland.

Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
