Sanford R. Green

June 20, 1924 - February 2, 1998

Sanford served in the U. S. Army in World War II. Date of induction, 7-5-1943. Date of discharge, 10-31-1945. His military occupational speciality, Gun Crewman #844.

Battles and Campaign served: Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, The Battle of the Bulge and Rhineland.

Decorations Earned: American Theater, European, African, Middle Eastern, Four Bronze Stars and Good Conduct Medal.

Sanford was captured shortly after The Battle of the Bulge and was a P.O.W. in Germany from December 1944 to April 11, 1945.

Sanford never talked much about his military experiences. To this day not even his wife or children know what the 4 Bronze Stars were given for, but we know Bronze Stars were given for an act of bravery and for that we highly honor him.
