LEBANON, Ind. - Wayne Bunch, 91, of Lebanon, Ind., died Feb. 23, 2011, at Homewood Health Campus, Lebanon, Ind. Born in Slick Rock community in Barren County, he was the son of the late Lorenza C. and Emma (Morton) Bunch. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Florence Green.

He is survived by three children; Charles (Paulette) W. Bunch, Lebanon, Ind., Shirley (Daniel) A. Isenhower, Lebanon, Ind., and Sandra (Sherman) L. Rutan, Advance, Ind.; and one step-daughter, Louise Landrum, of Glasgow. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Tamara (Randall) M. Bunch Betzler, Indianapolis, Ind., John David Childers, Advance, Ind., Jennifer Diane (Childers) Mayes, Bothell, Wash., Frankie (Amy) W. Breedlove, Largo, Fla., and Cari Ann Cox (Keith) Lehigh, Indianapolis, Ind.; and nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Roby Breedlove and Todd W. Bunch; five brothers, Jim, Mote, Ted, L.C. (Jimmie) and Howard, and six sisters, Edna, Velma, Ethel, Ova, Vivian and Marie.

He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Barbara (Sutton) Wilson. He was survived by six more stepchildren; Darrell Wilson, Crawfordsville, Ind., Linda (Bernard) Karle, Crawfordsville, Ind., Wendell (Donna) Wilson, Olathe, Kansas, Rusty Wilson, Madiera Beach, Fla., Joann (Mike) Crawford, Darlington, Ind., Cathy (Daniel) Scott, Lebanon, Ind., and stepdaughter-in-law Teresa Wilson, West Lafayette, Ind. He is also survived by 19 stepgrandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren.

He moved to the Thorntown community in 1941, farming for 19 years north of Thorntown on the Gruel Brothers farm. After farming, he worked for Dale�s Machine Shop and Cones Brothers Excavating and Ditching Co. in Thorntown. He later owned his own excavating operation, working in the Thorntown area for several more years. He retired in 1986 due to declining health.

He was an active hunter, fisherman and collector of Indian arrowheads. Being an avid race fan for many years, he especially enjoyed NASCAR racing. He was a dedicated father and stepfather and he truly loved and enjoyed all of his family and his little dog Annie.

He touched many lives in his 70 years in the Thorntown community and will be remembered for his soft-spoken manner and enduring ways.

Funeral service will be Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at 2 p.m. with burial at Maple Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Bud Moody officiating. Visitation is Friday from noon until 2 p.m. at Russell & Hitch in Thornton, Ind. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
