Edward Howard Warf Sr., 80, of Green County, Ky., died on Sunday, June 6, 2004, at the Hospice Care Unit in Louisville, Ky. Son of the late Caffrie Warf and Nellie Perkins Warf, he was born on Monday, June 18, 1923, in Green County, Ky. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a life member of the James L. Pruitt VFW Post #5813, a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124 and he was a retired truck driver for J&J Trucking. He was married to Mary Lee Settles on Aug. 3, 1955. She preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 1988. Survivors include two daughters, Regina Pugh and Theresa Crum, both of Louisville; two sons, Edward H. Warf Jr. and Dale Warf, both of Louisville; two step-sons, John Edward Legler of Indiana and Thomas Wayne Legler of Louisville; one sister, Esther Wiley of Campbellsville, Ky.; one brother, Odeen Warf of Louisiana; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. He was!
also preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton Warf and Elmo Warf. Funeral was on Tuesday, June 8 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in the Warf Cemetery with military rites conducted. Bros. Carlos Compton and Leon Jones officiated. Pallbearers were members of the James L. Pruitt VFW Post 5813. Honorary pallbearers were members of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124.
